CHINESE BRUSH
The beginner’s class is held in the small art room next to the large one. This is for people who have had no instruction. As the room is small and the class is limited to 6 people. The small class size will give everyone a chance to learn the basics thoroughly. It will run until the end of December when the class will move into the drop-in area. A new beginner’s class will start in January.
Required: Supplies can be purchased from the leader
DRAWING
This class will give instruction and practice in basic drawing skills using pencils, charcoal, chalks and pastels. The goal is to develop a loose, comfortable relationship with drawing medium and train the eye to see shape, tone and texture as well as developing a balanced composition. After the first few sessions we may move to coloured pencils or pastels, depending on the class progress. All skill levels welcome.
Required: Drawing board 18\ x 24\"" (Masonite", birch plywood or Gaterboard), 2 Large Bulldog clips, Good graphite pencils 4B and 6B, Charcoal pencil and white, Charcoal sticks, Vine charcoal, Kneaded eraser, X-Acto Knife, Loose paper will be provided (50 cents per class will be collected), Sketch books (to be discussed at the first class)
Advanced: This is a structured class and a little more advanced than a beginner’s class, so it is helpful to have a bit of knowledge. Basic principles are taught. Encouragement is to be expressive rather than photographic.

OIL / ACRYLICS
This is an advanced level of painting. Some painting experience is requested as well as a willingness to work on one’s own. No class assignments are given except at the beginning of the year when we do something different. We are here to help you with your painting, give individual advice and critique when asked.
Required: To begin, at least some good brushes, a canvas and five colors, black, white, red, blue and yellow.
WATER COLOURS
Beginners: We say beginners but everybody is welcome. Some of us have been “beginners” for some years because we like the friendship in this class. Everyone works on their own project, at their own pace. Some are very industrious, others enjoy being more relaxed.
Get Together: A mix of very experienced watercolor artists and near beginners who learn from each other and from videos. Subjects and activities are discussed and decided upon periodically.
Required: A list of supplies will be given to those who join.
Drop-In: No instruction is provided. Work on your own project in a friendly atmosphere
