CARDS & BEADS
In this class you learn all sorts of techniques when making greeting cards or beaded items. It is a fun class with basically with a couple of rules. First you are working on cards or beading, all other crafts belong elsewhere. And second, you contribute to our items to be sold at craft fairs. We do welcome special orders and will accommodate when possible.
CAMERA CLUB
Camera Club - Want to be a better photographer?
Join the Camera Club, geared to the ‘Beginning Photographers’ and those who have recently moved up to a DSLR from simpler cameras. We emphasize knowing your camera functions and understanding ‘why’ you use or change them, rather than the ‘how’. We practice both in the classroom and on outdoor photo walks. Join us and you will soon be able to produce images are proud to show.
Required: Any digital camera from DSLR to ‘Point & Shoot’ models, but the former is preferable. The Camera Manual is a MUST
CERAMICS
We work with green ware poured from molds and bisque (cleaned and fired green ware).
Class members paint bisque with no fire paints (acrylic stains) or with fired glazes (glaze applied and fired in our on-site kiln). We have brushes available but for continued attendance participants often want to have their own brushes and utensils.
FIBER ARTS
Work with different mediums, paper, wool, fabric, wire, etc.
Required: Materials required depend on your individual project.
Quilting: Work with your own design to create an art quilt (wall hanging). Create beauty with fabric painting and embellishments.
Required: Should be an experienced quilter, whether by hand or machine.
HAND WEAVERS AND SPINNERS
We have fun sharing knowledge and learning all about fibre. We weave on table and floor looms,
and learn to spin using a drop spindle or spinning wheel. Beginners are always welcome.
KREATIVE KRAFTS
Which crafts do you enjoy? We do something of everything in this group. We use material contributions to sew, bead, knit, crochet, and more. Everything we produce is made for the Craft Fair, held annually at the Centre. Hone your skills or learn new ones in our friendly group, all while raising funds for the many things needed, or wanted, at our Centre.
Required: Materials, such as yarn, fabric, ribbon, etc. are donated to our efforts. Bring your own equipment if required for your craft, knitting needles, crochet hooks, etc.
LAPIDARY/SILVER
This is a monitoring program, with no formal instruction but lots of help and advice with projects. Lapidary is working with stones and glass, including dichroic glass. We combine that with silversmithing to create settings for our creations. In silversmithing we also use the lost wax technique to create molds for our silver. For safety reasons there is always a minimum of two and a maximum of ten people working in the shop.
Required: Hearing protection. An apron is also recommended. The Centre has all the tools required.
PAPER TOLE
Paper Tole is the craft of making 3D pictures out of photos. You will learn quickly to make very nice pictures. We are a fun group and very positive. All skill levels are accepted.
QUILTING
Tuesday - Arts Quilting: This group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 3:15 p.m. We work with various textiles to create wall hangings and other textile art pieces. This group would appeal to experienced quilters who wish to branch out to create and design their own textile art pieces.
Wednesday & Thursday - Forever Quilters is a self-directed class with no formal instruction. Great sharing of techniques, design ideas, conversation and fun. You may do you UFO's or new projects as you wish. At this time, you must be pre-registered in a session for attendance.
Friday Quilters - This group of experienced quilters meets every Friday morning for 3 hours. We participate in some group quilting and charity projects but primarily work on our own projects. There is no formal instruction provided but we do rely on each others expertise when required.
SCULPTURE
A chance to create with clay, plaster, wood or mixed media. No experience necessary. Everyone works at their own pace. Its lots of fun!
Required: Tools are provided. You must purchase your own clay, etc.
STAINED GLASS
This is a drop-in class with experienced glass workers on hand to give instructions.
Required: Members need their own supplies, however tools are available for use until the Member feels confident that they do indeed want to continue with projects
WOOD WORKING
Wood Working Drop-In: Work on your own projects with our equipment. We have band saws, table saws, belt sanders, thickness planer and more. Stay for an hour or up to five hours. Access is on the buddy system. For safety reasons two people must be in the workshop when power tools are being used. Everyone is welcome. Advice is always available.
Required: Wood and other supplies for your own project. Come check us out first.
Wood Turning: Work on your own projects with our equipment. We have the lathes and chisels needed to shape wood. Access is on the buddy system. For safety reasons two people must be in the workshop when power tools are being used. Everyone is welcome. No Experience Necessary.

Wood Carving: A lot of assistance is available but there are no set projects. Everyone does their own thing. Please do not purchase wood or tools before the first visit. Advice on projects, tools and wood are available.
